Permit Related Services
Landscape Permit
In California, new residential landscapes over 500 square feet require a landscape permit, intended to promote long-term water-wise gardens by controlling water use & matching irrigation valves to plant groups with similar water needs. As landscape architects, we go beyond meeting these requirements to plan & design landscapes that are both scientifically sound & aesthetically pleasing.
Lawn Conversion Design
If you’d like to convert your lawn to a garden, we can design and document the project in compliance with rebate requirements. Typically, rebate programs require a qualified plant list and documentation of plant coverage at maturity. While some qualifying plants may appear dry or sparse, our designs aim to create a lush, refreshing landscape while still meeting rebate criteria.
Irrigation Design, Auditing
Did you know that proper irrigation design can help prevent damage to equipment and reduce the risk of subsurface leaks from the start? We design irrigation systems to support your new garden’s establishment and provide guidance on setting up irrigation zones based on each plant’s water needs from day one.
Site Related Services
Plants Sourcing, Placement
Our planting design is based on local market availability. The drawings indicate plant locations, sizes, & procurement quantities. If you are not confident that the contractor will purchase the specified plants or install them in the designated locations, we offer additional services to ensure design intent is met.
Project Oversight
You’re busy living your life, and turning a design into reality takes time and careful oversight. Whether reviewing contractor bids, introducing our recommended landscape contractors, checking construction milestones, or preparing a punch list, we help manage the details and prevent issues before they arise.
